Our products are priced to make the decision to buy as easy as possible. Also we want to protect our software so that it is not copied illegally from machine to machine. To prevent illegal use of the software our products will only work when licensed to a specific device.
Most of our software can be licensed to a specific CPU or to a specific USB stick and because there is a restriction, these licences offer the most value to you. When your purchase is complete, you will be able to generate a licence key for your copy of the software. During this process you will be asked to enter the serial number of the CPU or the USB stick to which your licence will be fixed. You will save the licence key file into the software folder and the software will be available for unrestricted use while the software and licence key file are on the PC or USB stick with the corresponding serial number.
What happens if I change machines?
We provide 5 licences with each purchase so that you can change PC and create a new licence key file up to five times. You choose how you use these licences. Have them as backups. Use them to install a copy on five different devices. It's up to you. However once the five are used, you will not be able to generate any further licence keys without making an additional purchase.
I change PCs frequently
If you think you will change PCs more frequently, consider copying the software onto a USB memory stick and tying the software licence key to the ID of the USB stick. Then you will be able to use Comply XL on ANY machine running Windows XP or Windows 2000 (SP4) that supports USB memory sticks. Just insert the stick into a USB port and it will work - no installation required.
What happens if I enter the wrong ID for my PC or USB stick?
We have no way to know that the ID you entered was wrong. This is why we provide 5 licences. You have five attempts to get it right. The terms of the software licence ask you to agree that this arrangement is acceptable. If it is not then you should not buy the software.
If you think it is a problem with the software you have purcahsed, contact us by email and we can help you verify the cause. If it is a problem with the software, we will want to address the problem!
